Our Process at a Glance

Sterne uses Ravenna to guide our families through the admissions process, please submit an Inquiry Form and follow prompts to create your account as your first steps.

ROLLING ADMISSIONS

Sterne accepts applications year round on a rolling basis. To apply now, submit an application through Ravenna and then follow the steps below.

1. Register for a Parent Tour.
2. Register for a Parent Interview (after your tour).
3. Submit your application and supplemental documents
4. Schedule Student Visit.
5. Meet with Head of School for Personalized Learning Plan review.
6. Final step: Application review and decision response.

ENTRY FOR NEXT FALL

Apply by January 5, 2027 in Ravenna

1. Register for a Parent Tour.
2. Register for a Parent Interview.
3. Complete application on Ravenna (by January 5, 2027)
4. Sign up for a Student Visit.
5. Meet with Head of School for Personalized Learning Plan review.
6. If needed, apply for Tuition Assistance (by February 5, 2027).
7. Submit required supplemental application materials (by February 1, 2027).
8. When you receive Sterne's decision notification on March 11, 2027, please respond by March 18, 2027.

Sterne School is a member of the BADA and BAIHS/BAAD (ISSFBA) consortiums and has an application process for entry for the following year, 2027-2028, aligning with similar dates of consortium schools.

A Note on Our Guidelines & Practices

Sterne School is a member of the Independent Schools of the San Francisco Bay Area (ISSFBA), the Bay Area Directors of Admissions (BADA, K–8), and the Bay Area Admission Directors (BAAD/BAIHS, 9–12). We follow the BADA and BAIHS Principles of Good Practice and Decision Week Guidelines.
